There’s a reason people keep saying “vote down the ballot”.
In every state, there is something more to vote for. That might mean Congress — you don’t want someone who dabs at debates in there, do you? — or it might mean your state’s legislature(s). There could even be some individual measures being weighed. In Massachusetts and California, for example, voters are being asked to vote on health care and the legalization of marijuana.
Congress has a huge impact on the way the country works. So even if you hate both candidates, voting on who your state sends to the House and Senate can still make up for it. There’s a chance that the Democrats can take both houses of Congress back. So for those in need of further motivation to vote — in either direction — there it is.
